Discovering the Tuscan territory

The plains and hills of Tuscany are the canvas for orderly vineyards and olive groves set off by rows of cypress trees and knots of farmhouses. On the one side are the mountains, rich with green meadows, woodlands and centuries-old forests; on the other the sea, with its pinewoods and beaches and above all its ‘pearls’: the archipelago of tiny islands that frames a bountiful region with a generous soul.

A fairy-tale landscape awaits you, to make your stay at Agriturismo Borgo La Capraia a Tuscan dream come true, an opportunity to discover a typical Italian lifestyle built on a relaxed attitude, fine food and wine, exuberant nature and many activities all within easy reach.

At 32 km from Arezzo, a notable historic city with its medieval upper town studded with grandiose architectural jewels such as the Cathedral, the Palazzo Comunale and the Fortezza Medicea.

In the province of Arezzo, in the northern portion of Tuscany bordering on the Romagna region, the Casentino area is skirted by mountain ridges that give it the look of a huge natural amphitheatre. At the centre the Arno river run down from its springs on nearby Monte Falterona. The area is also renowned for its naturalistic attractions: the Foreste Casentinesi National Park is home to Italy’s most extensive and best-conserved forests and the highest number of species of fauna to be found anywhere in the northern part of the Apennine mountain range.

Just 35 km from Florence, the world’s best-loved city, and its unparalleled artistic heritage. Framed by the Chianti hills, with their boundless vineyards and olive groves and the marvellous villages of Radda, Gaiole and Castellina. 80 km from Siena, the famous historic city rising over an Etruscan settlement, with its just-as-famous Piazza del Campo, one of Europe’s most beautiful squares and the arena for the memorable Palio horse races. Near Siena is San Gimignano, a beautiful hilltop town known for its medieval towers that still dominate the Val d’Elsa valley.
